This year’s World AIDS Day will be a memorable event.  2011 marked the 30th year of HIV in America with many changes in HIV prevention and care in Kansas.  To involve our community in the fight against this very preventable and treatable virus, DCAP will be commemorating World AIDS Day 2011 in collaboration with the Spencer Museum of Art’s Student Advisory Board.  The planned events will involve the intersection of HIV and the arts and hopefully convey the human perspective of living with HIV in America.  

The event will take place on December 1, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00PM in the Spencer Museum of Art.  The first hour of the event will feature an informational fair with many KU student groups participating.  We encourage all of those interested to join us in the Spencer to view a specially curated gallery of artwork regarding the changing face of HIV/AIDS put together by the Spencer Student Advisory Board.  At 6:00PM, we are excited to screen the film, The Universe of Keith Haring.  Following the film, we will be holding a candlelight vigil for those who would like to participate outside of the museum.
